What the concept would ask

The initial population in view is adults with cerebral palsy or stable early-acquired neurological injury. Broader comparisons would need their own justification. The aim is a shared description, not a treatment assignment.

Domains a future protocol might define, none of which are being collected here:

  1. Timing and nature of the injury, and whether the deficit is stable.
  2. Imaging features, only where an approved protocol calls for them.
  3. Physiology measures, only where a site already has a lawful way to obtain them.
  4. Function: limb use, gait, sensation, participation.
  5. Rehabilitation already received, as history, not as a new prescription.

What it is not

  • No treatment of any kind: no focused ultrasound, drug, biologic or cellular product.
  • Not recruiting, and not medical advice.
  • No access to or copy of hospital record systems.

Questions for a prospective clinical lead

We’re asking surgeons and clinician-scientists to test the idea and tell us what’s missing.

  1. Which adult group and which daily-life outcomes would make a first study worth doing?
  2. Which clinical and imaging features could actually be compared across sites?
  3. Who would sponsor a feasibility review, including ethics and privacy?
  4. What result should stop the idea, as well as what result should continue it?
